German Shepherd Dog

Hattie

Hattie the German Shepherd was rescued from the streets of Ireland. She had been found as a very thin stray dog. It was thought that she had been abandoned after having a litter of puppies, but she was still at a very young age herself.

In October 2016, her forever family walked into the Dogs Trust. Of course, they fell in love with Hattie.

Despite everything that had happened to Hattie, she was still so full of life and bouncy. As a result, her family decided to rename her Hattie after their favourite character from the Carry On films, ‘Hattie Jacques’.

Hattie joined the family’s existing dog, Rico. Together they lived their best lives for almost 10 years, with adventures galore.

Hattie made it to 11yrs and her family are so thankful to have had her in their lives. She was an absolute joy.

Hattie passed away peacefully on 10th October 2025. The Springfield Pet Cremation team were honoured to be entrusted with Hattie’s care afterwards. Her individual dog cremation was carried out with dignity, respect and gentleness. She was treated with the same love and care that had surrounded her throughout her life.

Rest in Peace, Hattie. Forever loved, forever missed, forever our beautiful Hattie. Run free until you are reunited with your family again.
